With a long and rich history, the area boasts and abundance of fascinating places worthy of a visit.

Museums dedicated to painting, sculptures, jewellery, tolles and archaeology can be found in both Setúbal and Sesimbra.

Medieval castles are a feature of Palmela, Sesimbra and Alcácer do Sal, whilst religious architecture in the area offers fine examples of Manualine, Renaissance and Baroque styles as well as convents including the Covent of Arrábida.
