Quite a Prominent Place for the 21st Century Tourism
In the Blue Sea Coast, on the left margin of river Tagus, in the Setúbal Peninsula, quite close to Lisbon, Estoril and Sintra, everything is fascinating.
First, the fine sandy beaches, hundreds of kilometres along the coast, from Costa da Caparica to Melides, passing through Tróia, with extensive sandy beaches and dunes in front of the sea, until Sesimbra and Portinho d’Arrábida, which are intimate examples of small beaches close to the mountainous coast. The ridges are also charming, having been formed 180 million years ago.
The nature of the soil, combined with a temperate climate (Atlantic temperate), one of the best in Portugal, has generated an exuberant vegetation.
The picturesque and calm coastal villages of Blue Sea Coast, inhabited by hospitable and welcoming people, are a perfect example of the best found in Portugal.
Symbolic villages of the Portuguese History, with its castles and fortresses, churches, chapels and promontories.
